不過，就在妹妹借住在姐姐住所的某一個晚上，妹妹與姐姐的新男友發生了關係，也碰巧被回家的姐姐撞見，就此一發不可收拾，兩姊妹大吵一架之後，便從此沒有聯絡。
姐姐離開了律師事務所，妹妹則在因緣際會之下，到佛羅里達投靠失聯的外婆。姊妹倆雖然沒連絡，心裡卻是彼此牽掛的。也因為這一次的分別，兩個人都找到自己新的生活與人生。當然，最後是一個很美滿的結局，雖然這部片子以兩姊妹為出發點，但是卻彌補了父親與母親、母親與外婆、父親與外婆，甚至是外婆與孫女們之間的遺憾。
整部片子，我最喜歡妹妹在醫院唸書的那一段過程，由於妹妹有閱讀上的障礙，但在她志願在醫院當義工的期間，她遇見了一個退休的盲眼教授，經由教授的循循善誘，她突破了閱讀上的障礙，最後還在姐姐的婚禮上，唸了一首送給她……
